Description
A super fun and cool blues chart for young bands! It starts with the ending (yup–check out the demo!), then the swinging sax melody. Solos are for alto, tenor, or trumpet, but can easily be opened up for anyone in the band. (Backgrounds included in solo section.) A sax soli/shout chorus sets up a short drum solo, then it’s back to the top and out.
This is also a great teaching chart, with lots of great “Basie-isms” presented in a very accessible way. Lead trumpet goes to G, trombone to F. Sample piano voicing and bass lines are provided.
Check out That Boy Ain’t Right as the opener for your young band’s festival set!
