Band directors: Have classes started, and your rhythm section is already keeping you on your toes? Or stepping on your toes? Maybe your drummer can’t quite figure out how the hi-hat works. Your guitarist only knows four chords. Your pianist has never seen slash notation. And that bass player? They’ve never created a walking bass line—let alone played upright bass. We have the solution for you! Join us for the Jazz Rhythm Section Workshop at Folsom Lake College where your students get to work with an outstanding group of artist/educators: Barb Catlin-Bergeron (piano), Mike Dana (guitar), host Molly Redfield (bass) and Lauren Ellis (drums.) Students will receive individualized instruction on their instruments, and we’ll also work with your entire rhythm section as a group to help them learn how to listen, communicate, and groove together.

It all takes place on Sunday September 13 at Folsom Lake College. Complete details and registration info here.

This is a fantastic opportunity to get your band off to a great (and swinging!) start. Sign up now!
