Description
December is a Maria Schneider-esque chart that features tenor (opt. soprano) and trumpet (opt. guitar/vibes). The ethereal melody floats over a 6/4 even-eighth groove. Solo changes are challenging, but mature soloists (and rhythm section) will have no problem. Some piano voicings are provided; bass part is both notated and slashes. There are a few doubles: Alto 1/flute, tenor 2/clarinet, bari/bass clarinet. This chart will be a stunning change of pace for a college or strong high school band.
